Exit 68
Exit 68 is the loud, hook-first heart of the AFTERWIRE universe — a five-piece built to tear up a small club rather than sound like a polished studio construction. Powerful belted vocals, crunchy guitars, and basslines that actually move give the band a live-wire energy that survives contact with a radio playlist without going sterile.
The band's rise reads like a rumor that turned out to be true: booked as an emergency opener, they outshone the headliner the night frontwoman Avery Hart grabbed a guitar mid-set and launched into their defiant original "Against Better Judgment." The clip did the rest. The story that "Avery made Exit 68 famous" has followed them ever since — and the name? The inside joke is that Exit 69 was the obvious one, so they stopped an exit early.
